Schools Tournament

The sun broke out on Beach Gardens just in time to welcome squads from local junior schools to compete in our annual Inter-School Tournament.

This year teams of twelve (six girls and six boys) in the top year groups from St Marks, Swanage Primary and St Mary’s came together for an afternoon packed full of fun competition.

This doubles competition gave pairs the chance to play seven mini matches in which every game counted towards the final total.

Our competitors played with a spirit of fun and friendly rivalry and all got the chance to try their hand at tennis.

The competition was close between the girls but Swanage Primary managed to win the most games. However, when it came to the boys, St Mary’s surged their way past their competitors winning more than twenty more than other schools.

This was enough to secure another overall win, the third in a row for the school. The shield is becoming a permanent part of their display cabinet!

We would like to thank all of the children who took part in the event, their teachers, our own umpires and Ryan who ran the afternoon – it was really fantastic for all involved.
