Junior Coaching Award Scheme 2018 / 2019

Swanage Tennis Club Junior Coaching Awards 2018/2019

 STC will consider offering financial assistance to any child of any age taking part in the club’s coaching programme or junior member club sessions.  The key aims of the financial awards scheme are;

- To support and nurture a child’s general health, happiness and wellbeing through learning to play tennis, or

- To encourage and recognise a junior member’s ‘fair play’ attitude, commitment, positive attitude and general good conduct in and around the club.

 An Award will be in the form of a financial contribution of 50% towards;

 one weekly coaching session for up to 39 weeks of the year  nd the annual junior membership fee.

 Categories for eligibility to support a child’s wellbeing

 The annual awards will be at the discretion of the STC committee.  The decisions of the committee will be based on a number of factors which could be adversely affecting or influencing a child’s general wellbeing.  Such factors could include;

 (a) family circumstances such as divorce or bereavement or serious illness of parent/sibling,

(b) struggling at school (which could be due to special educational needs or suffering from bullying or generally   just not managing within the school setting),

(c) disability or medical condition,

(d) experienced domestic violence,

(e) is a young carer,

(f) is a foster or adopted child (new to area),

(g) from an asylum family,

(h) parent in trouble with the law, in prison,

(i) is a ‘latch key’ child, etc. 

 Requirements of the Award ;

 to be aged 16 years and under,

  • show a professional and passionate aptitude for the club and tennis,
  • to attend the weekly coaching session being financed by STC,
  • demonstrate professional conduct in the programme and around the club,
  • to have British Tennis Membership (free of charge from the LTA),
  • try to attend the Tuesday (free of charge) junior match play session and other practice hits sessions, and
  • to join STC as a junior member.

 Budget provision for 2018/19

 

1 lesson (1.5hrs) per week at £8 per lesson

Swans Men win County Division 2

 

Great news to end a hard fought summer of tennis.  Swanage Men's team have won the LTA County Division 2 Championship.  Well done to Ryan Trickey (picutured here),  Jamie McDonald, Matt Sullivan, Paul Marchant and Chris Thorne.
