Our first tournament under Ryan's leadership proved to be an incredible evening of tennis, sunshine and fun.
Twenty eight eager members of all abilities turned out to make the most of a fantastic evening. Ryan sorted people in to pairings and the matches began. The short (5 game) format worked well and gave people the chance to face a wide range of opposition.
Five courts were in constant use and others had to sit out to wait for space to play.
The winners were the pairing to amount the most games during the evening rather than matches won.
At the top, the results were tight! By one game only, Gordon Wallis and Bob Needs claimed victory over Jamie McDonald and Chris Thorne in second with Carol Adams and Sam Christmas coming in in third.
Annie and Helen are to be thanked for providing nibbles and drinks, they always do so much for us. Thank you also to Meg for cleaning up at the end!
The next big event is the Pimms and Whites Tournament on Friday 7th July. See you there!
