Swanage Mens 1st team finish 2017 with high hopes of promotion

Swanage Men's 1 ended 2017 on a high with another victory! It was a windy Wednesday night at home to Stourpaine, but Jamie McDonald and Matt Sullivan Stormed to victory, winning with only 4 games dropped. 6-2 6-1 6-1 6-0.

Gordon Wallace and Graham Ward had more time on court, but also won without dropping a set. Winning 6-4 6-1 6-2 7-5.

Having beaten the opponents and the rain, the team enjoyed a nice dinner and a beer with the guys from Stourpaine.

This win means that Swanage Men's 1 put themselves in a very strong position to fight for promotion in the new year, with a significant points difference between the Swans and Hales Gardens in third place. Only the top two teams will gain promotion. Swanage will have to hope that Victoria Avenue slip up if they are to take the Division 4 title.

Swanage have three fixtures left this Winter. And will be hoping for a good start to the new year when they travel to Shaftesbury on January the 13th.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Swanage Men's 1!
